FC Barcelona have officially announced their 30-man squad for the highly anticipated 2025 pre-season tour of Asia, which includes stops in Japan and South Korea. New head coach Hansi Flick has named a mix of senior stars and promising young talents for the three-match tour, as the team ramps up preparations for the upcoming La Liga season.
Three Matches Across Two Countries
The squad flew out from El Prat Airport on Friday, July 25, heading first to Kobe, Japan, where they’ll face Vissel Kobe on Sunday, July 27. The Asia tour continues with fixtures against FC Seoul on July 31 and Daegu FC on August 4 in South Korea.
This comes after a brief delay due to a financial dispute, which was resolved just in time. The club reportedly received the €15 million owed for the tour, allowing the trip to proceed as scheduled.
Key Squad Details
Among the headline inclusions are Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford, both recent signings. Barcelona have also included six youth players, who will be hoping to make a strong impression under Flick:
-
Diego Kochen
-
Roony Bardghji
-
Jofre Torrents
-
Toni Fernandez
-
Pedro Fernandez ‘Dro’
-
Guille Fernandez
Notably, Marc-André ter Stegen misses the tour due to back surgery and unresolved contractual issues. Oriol Romeu and Pau Victor are also absent as they finalize exits from the club.
Despite being linked with a move away, Inaki Pena has travelled with the squad and remains part of the group for now.
