France has announced its 25-man squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament, revealed by Didier Deschamps on Thursday, May 16. With a strong team selection, Les Bleus are eager to end their long wait for European Championship glory.
Interestingly, Deschamps has opted to name just 25 players, leaving one spot open despite having the option to choose 26, as France aims for their third European Championship title this summer in Germany.
France is the favorite to win, with Kylian Mbappe, now at Real Madrid, expected to win the Golden Boot, even though he hasn’t scored at the Euros before. He’s supported by experienced players like Olivier Giroud, N’Golo Kante, Antoine Griezmann, and Adrien Rabiot, making a strong team.
In Group D, France will face tough competition from the Netherlands, Austria, and Poland.
