PSG Win First Champions League Title with 5-0 Victory Over Inter Milan

Paris Saint-Germain won their first Champions League title with a stunning 5-0 victory over Inter Milan. Desire Doue starred with two goals

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) finally achieved their long-awaited dream by winning the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history. In a dominant display at Munich’s Allianz Arena on Saturday, May 31, PSG thrashed Italian giants Inter Milan 5-0 – the biggest winning margin ever in a Champions League final.

Led by coach Luis Enrique, the young and energetic PSG side completely outclassed a tired-looking Inter Milan team. Teen sensation Désiré Doué was the star of the night, scoring twice and assisting the first goal. Other goals came from Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu, another teenage talent.

A Dream Start for PSG

The French side started strongly, controlling possession and pressing high up the pitch. Their breakthrough came early in the 12th minute when Vitinha played a brilliant pass to Doué, who squared the ball for Hakimi to score. Out of respect for his former club, Hakimi chose not to celebrate.

PSG doubled their lead just eight minutes later. After Ousmane Dembélé set him up, Doué fired a shot that deflected off Inter’s Federico Dimarco and into the net. The 19-year-old was proving to be unstoppable on the biggest stage of all.

Inter Struggle to Keep Up

Inter Milan, coached by Simone Inzaghi, had very few answers. Despite some attempts from Marcus Thuram and Francesco Acerbi, they couldn’t find a way past PSG’s solid defense. The Paris midfield, with Vitinha pulling the strings, remained in complete control.

In the 63rd minute, PSG made it 3-0. Dembélé flicked the ball to Vitinha, who set up Doué for his second goal of the night. The young forward left the field to a standing ovation shortly after.

Record-Breaking Victory

PSG didn’t stop there. In the 73rd minute, Kvaratskhelia finished off a smooth move to score the fourth goal. Substitute Senny Mayulu added the final touch in the 86th minute with a powerful strike after combining with Bradley Barcola.

It was the first time any team had scored five goals in a Champions League final since Benfica in 1962. PSG’s win was also the most one-sided final in the competition’s 70-year history.

Emotional Moments and a Historic Night

After years of heartbreak and heavy investment by their Qatari owners, PSG finally lifted the trophy that had always seemed just out of reach. This triumph follows their domestic league and cup wins, making it a historic treble for the French club.

“This means everything. It’s a dream come true,” said Vitinha. Doué, the man of the match, added, “I can’t find the words. We have written history.”

PSG became only the second French team to win the Champions League, after Marseille’s win in 1993—also in Munich.

For Inter Milan, it was a night to forget. After making it to the final for the second time in three seasons, they ended their campaign without a trophy. “PSG absolutely deserved to win,” admitted coach Inzaghi.

A New Era for PSG

With the departure of Kylian Mbappé and a fresh, youthful squad built over the past two years, PSG now looks stronger than ever. Coach Luis Enrique also joined an elite group of managers to win the Champions League with two different clubs, having won it with Barcelona in 2015.

This memorable night in Munich will go down in history as the moment PSG finally rose to the top of European football.
