Szczesny Departs Juventus After Mutual Contract Termination

Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has parted ways with Juventus after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract. After seven seasons with the Serie A club, Szczesny is now a free agent following the decision made on Wednesday afternoon.

Szczesny started his career at Arsenal, joining the club as a 15-year-old in 2006. Before signing with Juventus in 2017, he had loan stints at Brentford and AS Roma.

Szczesny played 252 games for Juventus, becoming one of just seven foreign players to reach 200 Serie A appearances for the club. His contract was originally set to expire in the summer of 2025, less than a year from now.

Szczesny’s possible next move?

Transfer to a Middle Eastern or MLS club: Like many players toward the latter stages of their careers, Szczesny might consider a move to a league in the Middle East or MLS, where he could enjoy a new challenge and potentially secure a lucrative contract.

Return to Poland: Although less likely, Szczesny could decide to return to his homeland and play in the Polish Ekstraklasa, particularly if he seeks to wind down his career closer to home.
