Bayern Munich has reached a three-year agreement with Vincent Kompany to become their new head coach.
Bayern Munich will pay Burnley £10.2 million to bring the 38-year-old to the Allianz Arena. He will take over from Thomas Tuchel, as the club failed to convince Tuchel to stay after reaching the Champions League semi-finals. They had to look elsewhere for a replacement.
Kompany, who started coaching at Anderlecht, gained recognition when he joined Burnley two years ago. The ex-Manchester City defender made a mark in the Championship, transforming a defensive team into an exciting attacking force. Under his leadership, Burnley swiftly returned to the Premier League.
Bayern had a tough season, missing out on a top-two finish in Germany for the first time since 2011. Although they made it to the Champions League semi-finals, they were narrowly beaten by Real Madrid over two legs.
