German Star Marco Reus Joins LA Galaxy After 12 Years at Dortmund

LA Galaxy has signed former Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus on a two-and-a-half-year contract, the MLS club announced on Thursday. The 35-year-old German midfielder joins as a free agent after leaving Dortmund at the end of last season, following a 12-year stint with the Bundesliga club.

Reus last match for Dortmund was the Champions League final loss to Real Madrid in June.

Reus joined Borussia Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012 and played a key role in winning two German Cups. Over his time at Dortmund, he netted 170 goals in 429 matches and served as captain for five years until 2023.

For the German national team, he scored 15 goals in 48 appearances.

LA Galaxy coach Greg Vanney said:

“He is a proven winner and leader whose talent and vision for the game will integrate seamlessly into the group as we prepare for the restart of the league and the run into the playoffs”
