Paris Saint-Germain signs Ousmane Dembélé from FC Barcelona in a €50 million deal

2018 French World Cup Winner Ousmane Dembélé has completed his move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain for €50.4 million.

26 years old Dembélé has strengthened lineup of the Ligue 1 winners by signing a five-year contract with them.

Dembélé became the second most expensive player in the world in 2017 when he moved from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona as a replacement for Neymar, for a whopping €105 million plus add-ons.

At Barca, he managed to score 40 goals and provide 43 assists in 185 appearances. He leaves after winning three league titles, two Copa del Rey titles, and two Spanish Super Cups.

The winger has made 37 international appearances with France and was part of the France squads that won the 2018 World Cup and reached the final in the 2022 World Cup.

Dembélé underwent a medical examination in Paris on Friday. On Saturday, August 12, it was confirmed that he would be joining PSG.

PSG Club President Nasser al-khelaifi:

“We are delighted to welcome Ousmane Dembélé to Paris Saint Germain, where he will be an important and committed player for our Club.”

“The passion and determination shown by Ousmane when he joined PSG is fantastic and is the attitude required for all our players. We are proud to have another French World Cup winner at Paris Saint-Germain as we enter a new great era for our Club.”

PSG Coach Enrique:

“He’s not a PSG player yet, he won’t be here tomorrow. There’s a little something missing. Not 100%, but 99% he’s a PSG player.”

“I’m delighted to be joining Paris Saint-Germain and can’t wait to play for my new club. I hope I can continue to grow here and make all the club’s fans proud,” Ousmane Dembele said after joining PSG.
